Re: A Decision is Made

Meravyel paused in her trek following Rellah. Someone, or something else was doing the same. Meravyel turned her path in an outward arch - doing so would allow her to keep up with Rellah and survey the forest around her. It was not long before she'd found a set of tracks that were not Rellah's. The direction and stride were that of someone on the hunt.

A cry of pain shattered through Meravyel's thoughts, snapping her attention toward the sound. It was Rellah!

Meravyel melded into the between places again, and flew through the forest faster than her true physical legs could have carried her. There was a clearing ahead and she could see two figures struggling with one another. A measure of relief wormed in to Meravyel's tense form - if there was struggling, Rellah was not dead. Meravyel materialized upon a tree branch and noched an arrow.

Rellah was pinned to the ground by another figure. Female from the looks of it. A meer? Meravyel uttered a barely audible growl. But then she looked closer. There was something too feline about the woman. The more detail she gathered, the more Meravyel doubted her first observation. Curiosity set aside, Meravyel's bowstring creaked as she pulled back, her arrow trained on the creature. Just as she was about to let loose the arrow into the creature's neck, another form appeared from the woodline.

A shock of awareness caused Meravyel to flinch, her sight blurring for a moment. Certainly a demonic entity. Meravyel turned the arrow toward the new threat, her judgement clouded by her hate of demons... until the new figure - also a female - pulled the feline creature from Rellah. Good sense took over, and Meravyel relaxed her bow, but keeping the arrow noched - "just in case".
