The door to the Silver Arrow swung open and as the bartender glanced up a weary-looking figure entered and flicked her amber eyes around the deserted room. With a sigh she stranger tucked her long silver-grey hair back behind one ear before crossing to the bar and dropping onto a stool."Vedui'," she said quietly, "Essamin naa Iskai'mithe." The accent was thick and while her features were clearly that of a she-elf her grasp of the language seemed somewhat shaky.
"Vedui'," the bartender responded, then decided it might be wiser to continue in common. "You seem as though you have travelled far. Can I offer you sustenance?"
After consuming an amount of food that was well at odds with her slight frame the she-elf relaxed and allowed the bartender to draw her into conversation. In all honesty she seemed happy to talk and in the deserted tavern there was no other audience, so it was that her story slowly came out.
"I come from a distant land known as Siege Perilous," she explained. "I have been raised in the main among the race of men with little knowledge or understanding of my heritage as an elf. A friend there told me of this place, where the elven race exists in community, and I thought to travel here and see what I could learn of the history and culture of the people that I would call my own." A sigh escaped her lips and she gestured around the empty tavern. "I think perhaps that I may have arrived at the wrong time for social interaction. I am by nature an early riser and I find it hard to stay awake into the later hours of the day - a result of my upbringing I'm afraid."
The bartender nodded. "There is certainly no-one around at the moment but maybe if you are able to wait?"
The she-elf nodded. "Perhaps some more of that wonderful stew?"
[OOC: Due to my location in Europe I am generally only around until maybe 5pm EST most days - maybe a bit later on weekends. Are there people from the Grey Company who regularly play before that time, or will I have to restrict myself to interacting via this board? Thanks.]
