Orcish bows

I believe I have discovered one of the magical properties the orcish bow holds. I think that it is able to fire without arrows, though I have yet to test the theory. I believe this for I saw an adventurer using one, he died a few seconds later and the creature that killed him was in turn killed. though the one who killed the troll went away.
after several minutes the corpse decayed to bones, I immediatly grabbed an empty bag and put the adventurers stuff in it. (I'd lost a Glacial Staff and a viking sword of orc slaying when I died and decayed earlier, so I was feeling sympathetic) and waited for his return. about ten minutes after his bones had gone he returned and I gave them to him. However, while I was looking through his things (I'm nosy, but not a thief) I could not see any arrows, and he didn'y complain of losing any. what do ya think?
