The last of the lizardmen band slayed, Rellah dismounted her horse, Ru, and quickly made her way to the frightened prisoner.
Please, I beg of thee! Undo my chains! You will be rewarded kindly for bringing me safely back to my father in Moonglow, the young maiden cried out, her face wet with tears.
Im doing my best to pick these locks, milady. Please, calm down, Rellah spoke in a whisper. We do not need any more of those filthy beasts finding us.
A pain in Rellahs right forearm made her wince, but she ignored it as she fumbled with the chains on the distraught maiden. One of the lizardmen had pierced her flesh with their crudely made spears, and as her adrenaline was slowing, Rellah could now feel the pain running up her arm.
The maiden sobbed. I just want to go home.
A noise in the far off distance of the woods made Rellah look up. Her eyes scanned the trees, but she saw nothing hiding in them. Turning back to the maiden, she put a finger to her lips. I want to get you home as well, but you must try to remain quiet.
Her blue eyes still welling up with tears, the maiden managed a nod and Rellah began her work with the lock again. Finally, (and somehow, a miracle, as Rellah hadnt the slightest idea how to pick a lock), the chains released from the maidens wrists.
Another noise made Rellah draw her dagger. She was sure that someone was watching them, and moving closer. She motioned to the maiden to stay on the ground. Rellah stood up quickly, once more her eyes scanning the trees of the forest. A gust of wind blew Rellahs hood down, revealing her concerned face and worried eyes.
The maidens eyes widened when she finally saw her rescuer. She had never seen an elf, and had almost become convinced they were a myth. This one, with snowy hair and lilac eyes, seemed concerned with the woods to their right. She found her own eyes wandering to the trees, but couldnt see what she was staring at. Turning her gaze back onto Rellah, she whispered, Ive never met an elf..
Rellah broke her stare into the forest to look back at the girl, who watched her with curious eyes. Smiling, hoping to make the maiden laugh, she replied, Ive never met a prisoner of a lizardmen band. Theres a first for everything.
For the first time that night the maiden did smile, and Rellah felt herself sighing with relief inside. She had never rescued anyone as she had tonight, and was only following her instincts, not experience. Rellah had been out hunting headless ones and ogres when she heard the screams of a woman coming from the other side of the forest. She came upon a band of five reptilian like creatures, and was sure they were known as lizardmen. Taking two out with her bow before the others realized they were under attack, Rellah then drew her kryss and rode through the three left standing, killing one more. Pulling on the Rus mane to turn him around, Rellah stood before the remaining two. Behind them was the frightened young girl, eyes wide with fear, tears rolling down her pale cheeks.
The lizardmen hissed at one another, a language that Rellah had not heard before. They were now armed with spears and ready to strike. Rellah had yet to master the art of fencing, and knew she had better chances defeating them with her bow. As they charged toward her, Rellah armed her bow and shot an arrow at one of them, hitting him right between his slitty eyes and he fell to the ground, dead.
Watch out! the girl had screamed, but it had been too late. Rellah cried out when the spear pierced her flesh, sending waves of sharp pain up her arm.
Ru reared up, trying to protect Rellah from another blow. His powerful hooves knocked down the last of the lizardmen, and gave Rellah time to ready another arrow. The lizardman hissed at Rellah as she pointed her bow at him. As she let the arrow release, she said, Quel esta.
The dusk had turned to night as Rellah helped the maiden onto Ru. The lizardmen slain, Rellah felt they were out of harms way for the time being. She still eyed the forest, feeling a presence lingering, watching, but not making itself known.
Hold onto me tight, Rellah put the girls arms around her waist. I will get you to your father.
Thank you, thank you.. the maiden whispered, resting her head on Rellahs back and locking her arms around her waist.
Rellah kicked at Rus side, and with a jolt they were off, riding fast as the wind toward the city of Moonglow.

Rellahs eyes had a difficult time staying in focus. She felt lightheaded, but knew she had to make it to Moonglow. The pain in her arm grew more intense, but she pushed it out of her mind and focused on her task. Soon the lighted streets of Moonglow became visible in the distance.
Which way? she asked the maiden, who was almost asleep.
East of here, on the outskirts of the town gates, my fathers house, she pointed to another road. Hes one of the nobles of the town, and why I was taken.
Come Ru, were almost done, Rellah whispered in the horses ear. He made a noise of acknowledgement, and started down the road.
A few minutes passed before the girl exclaimed, There it is! My fathers house!
Rellah looked to where the maiden pointed. Her own mouth opened a little, as she had never seen such a beautiful home (except for the ones in TelRuid). The maiden slid Ru and ran, fumbling, to the door of the house.
Father! she pounded on the door. Father!
A few lights came on, and the door opened. A lady in a nightgown, holding a candle, gasped. Angelia, dear Angelia!
Winnie, wake my father! Angelina collapsed in a heap on the marble steps.
Rellah dismounted and went to Angelia. After examining her, she turned to Winnie. Shes all right. A bit of a hard day for her. Shes fainted, is all.
Whats this? a booming mans voice came from behind Winnie. He appeared, in a robe, looking from Winnie to Rellah to the heap of a girl on the stairs. Oh Angelia!
He quickly knelt to Rellahs side, pulling his daughter into his arms.
Shes all right, shes fainted, Rellah put her hand on his arm. Taken by a band of lizardmen.
Angelias father turned to Rellah, who looked shocked by her appearance, whispered, An elf..
Winnie nudged the man to get him to stop staring. Finally blinking, the man spoke. Thank you for bringing her back to us. I must reward you
Rellah stood up, almost losing her balance. Nothing is needed. Im glad I was able to help your family. I must take leave of you now, I have a long journey ahead.
Where is it you must go? Stay here tonight, weve got extra rooms, Winnie suggested, and Angelias father nodded in agreement.
Im sorry, but I must go, Rellah mounted Ru as she spoke.
Perhaps I can open a moongate for you, Angelias father offered. Just name a place.
I need to go to Yew, Rellah replied. I do not want to trouble you so late.
Nonsense, youve brought my Angelia home safely, the man stood up and began to chant. Vas Rel Por..
A sparkling blue oval opened to the right of the group. Rellah smiled. Thank you kindly.
Come back to us, anytime, friend, he smiled at her, as he bent down to pick up his daughter.
Namaarie, Rellah waved as she walked into the gate.

She stood outside Empath Abbey. Rellahs pain had grown more severe. She could not push it out of her mind anymore. The spear must have been poisoned with something, Rellah decided. She dug around in a pack for a cure potion. After drinking the nasty tasting potion, Rellah waited. The pain did not subside. The potion was not strong enough.
Stricken with panic, Rellah thought of only one place to go. TelRuid.
Perhaps they have something that can cure this spreading poison, she thought. Ru, take us to TelRuid..
Every step closer to the town seemed like an eternity. Rellahs amethyst eyes clouded over, blurring her sight. Her skin began to turn cold, and she shivered, pulling her robe tighter against her body. Whispering through a dry mouth, she said, Ru, please hurry.
Rellah held onto Rus strong neck as he took off faster. Soon they were outside The Silver Arrow.
With the last of her strength, Rellah slipped off Ru, and walked toward the taverns steps. She could see lights coming from within, but she never made it to the door.
Rellah fell to the ground, with no energy to stand, or call out. Her breathing had become slow, and her eyes continued to go in and out of focus. Some of her silver blood began to drip out of the corner of her mouth.
Rellah felt Rus nose nudge at her softly. She knew he would not leave her.
Before finally passing out, Rellah had opened her eyes at the sound of twigs breaking under the weight of footsteps.
Perhaps someone would see her lying here, and save her from the poison.
She could not be sure who was approaching, as all she could see was black

**ooc: Feel free to pick up where this ends, Im hoping I wont be left for dead. =)**
