The sound of a bird's song woke Rellah. Groggy, she rubbed her violet eyes and sat up slowly. She was in The Silver Arrow. Remembering the poisoned spear, Rellah looked down at her arm, moving away her clothing to reveal a puncture wound with bruises on the rim. She touched it carefully; it was sore still, but she knew the poison had been drawn out of her body. Rellah could see clearly now, her eyes and head were no longer clouded.
And then she remembered...the golden elf who saved her. Her brow wrinkling, she tried to retrieve the image of him in her mind. Rellah couldn't quite remember all the details of his face...but she remembered his eyes, a burning gold, looking down at her.
He must have brought me up here, she thought.
Rellah slowly stood on the cold, wooden floor of the inn, and moved to the window. She could see Ru in the nearby stable.
Did I thank him? Rellah's eyes wandered the landscape. I cant remember...
She moved back toward the bed, climbing into it and covering up. Who was that elf?
Laying down on the soft bedding, Rellah whispered...Thank you, stranger, for your kindness. I only hope that we are fortunate to meet again.
