Amras: A History

Since Amras is rather new in town I thought I'd give a quick history.

Amras Ar-Feiniel was raised in northern Kalimar. He always had the desire to learn the art of swordsmanship, to be as great a warrior as his father had been. Amras never actually met his father, who lost his life defending the city against the nearby tribes of barbarian humans while his mother was still pregnant. When Amras was finally old enough to take part in battle he went to the temple of Vrilnar “The True,” also known as the Maiden of Justice. During the years of his training he became acquainted with a brash young human by the name of Guldor Mensel. Up to that point Amras had never dealt much with humans, and he was surprised at how Guldor seemed to age right before his eyes. At first, Amras had been the elder in age, appearance, and maturity. It was not long before all but the age difference changed dramatically, and Guldor was sent off with a strange group of adventurers to stop an evil uprising in the east.

A few years later, Amras was finally ready to step out on his own as a Paladin of The True. He was soon sent out with two clerics of Vrilnar to bring an end to a new guild of dark magics that was trying to bring in an evil from a far off land. The battle that ended the long campaign (for Paladins aren’t known for their diplomacy) resulted in a strange twist. His cleric companions were killed in front of his eyes and Amras himself was shoved through the portal the evil priests had erected to summon the hoard of dread spiders.

Waiting for him on the other side were the carcasses of many huge arachnids and a slight elven girl who introduced herself as Myra Sunveil. Immediately recognizing his own elven heritage she ushered him to the city of Tel’ruid where he is currently staying.
