Leaving the farm a short time later, the drow scouting party lead by Jyslin Ril headed west toward the mountains.

As soon as they entered the cave outpost in Shame Pass, a messanger came forward and handed Jyslin Ril a document that had the Matron Mother's red seal upon it. Jyslin dismounted and handed the reins of her mount to one of the slaves. The messanger bowed deeply and withdrew a short distance to see if the priestess would have a reply. Jyslin quickly broke the seal and began to read.

Soon a disgusted snear began to creep across her face. She looked to the messanger. "Tell my mother that her will is always my command. Tell her that we have the captive already and will deliver him straight forth to the Lord of the Abyss at the appointed place and time." The messanger snapped a salute and left immediately.

She turned quickly to face the sargtlin who had arrived with her. "Remove the prisoner to the back of the cave. Feed and water him. Check his bindings also, and you may as well drug him again. We don't need him to start causing trouble on the trip. Have the others ready themselves. As soon as we have fresh mounts we leave for the Sorcerer's Dungeon in Ilshenar."

Jyslin walked to small desk and began to write. When she had finished, she sealed the document and called for a dispatch rider. "Take this to Mikhila at the Dark Tower, near the Yew Crypts."

As soon as the dispatch rider had gone, she sat back contemplating her options in this strange game of twisted fate.
