A Dwarven Adventure
To the Harbor
by Jedaiah (03 Nov, 1996) A Dwarven Adventure: To the Harbor by Jedaiah

I walked over to the bulletin board and noticed there was reports of a banshee near by. I knew I had to go and visit her and stop her cruelty. I took the parchment over to Captain Tizer and asked him if we could go to the Port Llast Harbor. There was a mention of a boat and a sea monster between the fine lines, but I didn't foresee us becoming involved with it, so, I ignored it.

Well, I must admit that the entrance to the harbor is nearly impossible to find. But, thanks to the leadership of our Captain, we made it. From there to there there was no more fireballs cast at rats and boars. The two races joined together in harmony and used the ingenuity of swords and bows to make it the rest of the way.

Immediately, a cloaked human walked up to me and said, "Here's a map and detailed instructions for this place." he said as he held out his hand for money. I flipped him a gold peice and tucked the parchment into my tunic. I contacted my captain and told him I know the way around here and there is switches to controll the bridge up ahead. I didn't tell him a human slipped me the information because I was trying to impress Tizer by being a 'know it all'. I can now (the morning after) blame it on the 'creeper' ale and trusting a cloaked human. Needless to say, that'll be the last time I trust either one of the two.

Well, we had a mission and also a little quest to enjoy while we were here. Many banshee's dropped dead from our blades as we headed toward the first switch to the drawbridge. We followed the parchment closely and switched the first switch to the lower position. That was enough for us to escaped the perils of a sea monster and a half rotten boat. Speaking of which, I had to put on a garment of charisma to convince the Dwarves of Clan Axepeak to even step aboard the boat. I guess I should've been the one to listen because the boat started to fall apart before we even got half-way across.

I gave the parchment to Tizer when we reached the other side and explained to him how I got it and wasn't so sure that we should follow it from here on out. He exclaimed, "Jedaiah, sometimes I wonder about you!"

We finished the small quest by switching the switches to lower position.....

Well, I must admit. I had plenty 'creeper' ale, trusted a human, let my pride get the best of me, and was all but a normal elf that night. I thank the dwarves for the experiences of a lifetime and will always respect the Dwarves of Clan Axepeak.
