A Dwarven Adventure
Arrival
by Jedaiah (03 Nov, 1996) A Dwarven Adventure: Arrival by Jedaiah

We left the paths and trails of Windycliffes and entered the paths of Port Llast. When we entered the gate I noticed that the air was filled with putrid and nauseating fumes. One of the dwarves, Emmarld I believe, mentioned that this was the result of misuse of magix. I soon learned why.....

Our first battle was with close to 20 rats and 10 wild boars. Immediately, Tizer weilds a fireball and fries the critters without any problem. As I watched the little critters fry I saw the smoke from their burnt flesh fill the air and join up with the stenchified clouds hovering over head. That was it!! After hundreds and hundreds of rats and boars are burnt there is no stopping the pollution and destruction of fresh breathing air in the town of Llast.

After a couple of fights we reach the inn of Port Llast. We purchased the largest room in the inn and began the biggest party I'd ever seen. First, we started with the kindly exchange of ales and wines. Riklaun and T Graywolf began a card game of Kholia, I think there were over a thousand cards. At least that's what Riklaun said to Graywolf. I think that suprised Graywolf as much as me, because he fumbled and spilt a few hundred cards upon the floor. I was content eating locust and berries as I watch the commotion of dwarves inside a human development.

Soon, the ale began to 'creep' up on me again. This time it was different, instead of acting rude and socially unacceptable, I found an interest in how humans built buildings. I started to roam the inn examining the walls. Needless to say, I was intrigued by the walls of Port Llast Inn. So, I walked back to my captain to explain the detail of human construction for building structures. Tizer was in the inn with all the rest of the bunch. They were throwing pies, slamming ales, shaking and shooting spritzer bottles, and having a good ol' time. Of course, the 'creeper' ale stopped me from realizing that I shouldn't be discussing construction of building.... So, Tizer gives me some friendly advice, "JEDAIAH, WHO CARES?" he exclaimed as he dodged a blueberry cream filled pie aimed toward his head.

Still unable to discern the priorities of the present situation, I felt as if I should just burn down the walls of this inn. SO I DID... I set the walls on fire, and went over to the pie throwing fiasco and joined in. I grabbed the nearest ale, knocked over the nearest table, and sat behind the knocked over table and drank my ale. (creeper ale I'd like to remind you) It wasn't long before the place was filled with smoke and rising flame. For the life of me, I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. But, soon after the flame was hit with flying pies, spritzer, goblets, tankards, and a few flying bodies, it went out. I still can't figure out why everyone stopped what they were doing and began to stare at me with beady little eyes. All I know is I was watching the ripples in my ale and I became the center of attention.
