Eldemar Nuin Tel'Gilen by Talanithus Tarant (17 Sep, 1997)
Tal stands in front of the Great Hall as the merriment begins, his blue crystal lute within his hands as he calls for the rooms attention, "I wish to sing a song for you all, a song of our people, the Tel'Quessir. It is a tale of our beginnings, when first we sat at Corellon's feet. He taught us much in those early days, when we walked alone on this world, and it should not be forgotten. I call it "Eldemar Nuin Tel'Gilen", although the great poet, Tolkien, did not call it such. But since I have taken the Liberty of changing a bit of it, I thought one more liberty would be appropriate."
In Eldemar ,where all Elven folk's roads end, however long, The music stills as Grey finishes his last words, a silence descending for a moment as the Tel'Quessir's closeness to their gods still burns hotly within their minds. "Melareamin," says Tal in a soft voice, "Remember this reminder from Eru of our great gifts, and the great responsibility that they entail. That is all I have to sing, melloneamin, of who the Tel'Quessir are." Then the merriment continues again, with a thoughtful eye turned within every Edhel to their ancient roots and Eru's wonderful gifts... This site is Copyright © 1998-2004 by Brisid Celemegil.
