Nay, my friend, you misunderstand me. I assure you there was no sarcasm intended in my statement. I have no wit for such subterfuge. I assure you that I say only exactly what I mean. I apologise if this is how you took things. When I call you Glorfindle the Wise, I mean it as a compliment, not as sarcasm, for indeed I know of no one wiser. [ooc: Lightfoot is horrified that this is how you took his comments as he has absolutely nothing but the greatest respect for Glorfindle]
But, as you know I will speak my mind, and if I am wrong, I assume you will set me right.
I have always stood by the Elves and you, Glorfindle, as I have pledged in the past. And if nothing else, I am a man of my word. I shall always stand by you as a friend, even if you misunderstand me and take me not as one.
But friends can disagree, and it seems to me I asked questions which others only have thought. Will you condemn me for asking them? I think you will not. Your heart is too big for that.
[ooc: I think it is a mistake to refuse to debate this. I was debating in character, and I think it only natural that the statements which Glorfindle made would cause much debate in Tel'Ruid. I think you misunderstood Lightfoot's tone. It's tough to tell without body language cues. And my own clumsiness in writing may have contributed to this. Again let me apologise if I have offended you. No offense was intended.]
