Perspectives changed...

It's funny how much you miss when you are only looking for something in particular, Myra thought as she read over the books in the Tao Guildhouse for the 5th or 6th time.

Rubbing her tired eyes, she noticed the third candle she'd lit was burning down near it's end. Setting another on the table, she lit it, blowing out the nearly melted one.

Two books had attracted her attention quite a bit, with her new perspective. Before, she had merely been searching for information on what a Scion was. On where one would be. On base matters that were easily comprehended. This time, however, she was looking deeper. The how's. Not the simple how's either, but the "how" of mechanics, semantics, or whatever else she could think to call them. How did Baal'morda bestow his power upon the Scions, and further, how exactly did the draining of life restore the lives of those Scions?

One thing that struck a nerve in Myra the other night was something Ian mentioned. The spell Mana Vampire. Perhaps it was a crude example, but it was a functional one. Mana Vampire, if successfully cast, would drain the targets mental and magical energies, transferring them to the caster. More or less, this is what happened with the Affliction. The victim's lifeforce was drained back to the Scion, and the Scion was restored, so Baal'morda could further drain their lives.

Somehow, if theories were correct, if Trenton Sythe lived, if Myra was the tool so many claimed her to have been...
So many if's...
Trenton Sythe had made Myra into a... vessel, or more accurately, a filter of sorts. He had marked her with magical runes that had allowed her to drain the life force of the very being who granted Sythe the power to drain life. A bit of a paradox, Myra thought. But then again, it really wasn't. Trenton had not necessarily granted her Baal'morda's powers... he had either found a way to separate and transfer them himself, or had developed his own powers... An even more frightening prospect.

Myra shook off the train of thought she was following, only becoming confused. Frowning down at the words on the pages, she closed the books. She'd read them so many times she could nearly recite every one of them. And when her mind began thinking, it got so far ahead of her that she couldn't organize her thoughts, making her efforts almost useless.

Sighing, she quietly put the books back on the shelves in their places and took a sheet of paper from her 'bard' bag. How long had it been since she'd written anything aside from serious letters, or studies? She couldn't quite remember. And tonight would not change that. She penned two letters.

Azeron,

I must speak with you at your earliest convenience. A short time before Baal'morda's fall I asked your friend Khyrian to tell me what the marks Trenton Sythe had "bestowed" upon me meant. He never gave me a very scholarly answer. Again, I pursue this knowledge.

~Myra Sunveil~

This letter she left tacked to his office door, on the second floor of the Tao guildhouse. The second letter she sealed with wax and delivered to the Great Hall, for the Council.
