Ian relaxed, something he’d finally managed to teach himself, as he leaned back in the
chair. Lifting his legs up and propping them on top of his desk, he took the leather-bound
journal in his hand, a quill in the other, and began to write of the past few days. He had
fallen behind in his journal entries after he’d started his research on “the” armor. This is
his recollection of the events...My mind was in deep though over the silver ring on my finger, and I wasn’t paying much
attention to my surroundings. I had just fought one of the endless Zealots, lived, and
uncovered this odd ring from the wall. But, that wasn’t the best surprise of the day. That
happened when I clumsily bumped into a wall. Ian let out a quiet laugh as he remembered
rubbing his head a few choice words he had uttered after doing such. Closing his eyes he
began to think again...
I remember glancing up to the wall, looking it over for a few moments and started to head
off down another corridor. That was when the ring caught my attention, it was glowing
fiercely. Illuminating the hallway and ceiling around me, shining it’s light against
something on the wall. Upon closer inspecting using my new light source, I found that it
was in fact a set of platemail embedded deep in a segment of the wall. I glanced down to
my ring as the light from it began to flicker, moving to the center of the plate chestpiece,
there I took note of a small hole, around the hole was a similar design to that on my ring,
and I found out later that it was exactly the same...
An idea came to me, one that I thought was worth trying. Sliding the ring from my
finger, I raised it to the hole and pushed it gently into place, a perfect fit. The light from
the ring slowly died down, now only a faint glimmer, then darkness. A low rumbling
sound came from the corridors, echoing all around him. The wall shattered into pieces, all
pieces of the armor falling to the ground...
A faint smile crossed his lips as Ian pushed himself to his feet, climbing the ladder to the
second floor he crossed the room, there rested the armor now...
