A piece of Bread for the Rat

Lucky sat under his blanket at the Thieves Guild gnawing on some stale bread. The festivities at the Arrow for October Feast had did little to improve his mood. He had gone out of obligation to his rank in TelMithrim but he felt fake. His soul was torn in two. He had lived the life of being a bard and an elf fighting for good, being happy go lucky, and a flirt. However, he always felt as if he were living a lie. Denying a part of himself that he kept hidden deep away. A part none of the elves saw. It was a simple job of keeping it hidden. Act flighty and flirtatious and no one would take you to serious. Some had seen through his faade Gal was one, Morion was another. Coming back here to the city was supposed to fix that. If he felt fake being an elf then he would be a thief. Except, it wasnt working here either. Sure his skills were as sharp as ever and he still got the rush of excitement at the moment of the taking but now guilt also came afterwards. Sighing in disgust Lucky threw his bread to a rat in the corner who was too skinny. Best to get some sleep. Tomorrow night was a big deal. The Gem shop was going to be tricky and Patch expected him to be in top form.
