*The piece of parchment on which the message is scratched looks worn and torn apart in places. Dirt and strange green blood that seems to dissolve the parchment are covering it*We were arriving at the Silver Arrow a bit early, hoping to talk to those of you who did not know about the task that was awaiting us, yet.
With the time passing, we had to realize that there would be no Elven hunters, no rangers or blade singers to strengthen our numbers and rid the cursed forest of the evil that lurks within.
Though our number was small, it was decided that something had to be done to stop the progress the lesser minions were making, slow though it may be, for soon their forces would be too great to be challenged.
When the gate to the Land of the Feudal Lords opened, I could see tension and grim determination on the faces of my fellow knights.
We set spurs to our steeds and came upon the enemy swiftly and unexpected like a thunderstorm on a hot summer evening.
Blades and spellbooks ready, we unleashed our wrath on the evil minions that had gathered in force by the time we arrived.
They fell quickly and a sense of victory came to us before the battle had even begun.. little did we know.
The opposing force seemed to draw reinforcements out of nowhere, their numbers alone pressing us back and forcing us into defending ourselves rather than attacking.
Odd beetles, abominations of nature, and lizzardmen as well as creatures we had never seen in other parts of Sosaria challenged our resolve.
Though we fought valiantly, our numbers were too small. Soon we had to retreat and what we had deemed an easy victory upon arrival turned out to be a bitter defeat.
A few of our knights fell in the attempt to rid the lands of that ancient evil and barely got away with their lives.
And yet.. with the blood of those knights we bought time. Time for the Elves to gather and call upon allies of the past.
Now it is upon you to gather your numbers and let us know when it is time to strike.
I shall be eagerly awaiting your suggestions.
Make haste, we bought a little time.. not more.
