song contest part five: the first performance (to Lindor, Illisse ar Valandil and all others who wish to read)

"*peeks at the stage* well this is it, Brumelei's lindir have to bite off the tip. I hope that the stage we made will hold long enough..." Golradir whispers while taking care of the next load of breads. "I understand what you mean, those ten have eaten more than a whole village can eat..." I respond amused. "*shakes head* I dunno what to think of them... their arrogance sounds so familiar...but i can't seem to remember what..." Gonfindl suddenly says. I gaze at him and then remember the day we first had met. "Hum, when I met you, you were sitting near the fountain of Dun Natals old village. It were empty and you were the one who told me that they had moved out towards the coast." I say. "*nods* indeed, I were trying to survive upon the food i found...I introduced myself as a mountain elf, the last...surviving...*turns pale* oh no... this can't be real...all I remember were an old grey guy who demanded us elfs to work for them... and if we didn't..."
"*you're serious? Brumelei is responsable for what happened to your kin?" Golradir asked;
"Yes! I must speak with Oleria and Landin at once..." Gonfindl suddenly exclaims before storming out of the bakery. Only to bump into Landin who were with Frincass. "Oho such a hurry young elf, what is the rush?"
"Wizard of Clarytoha, do you remember the tragedy that happened to the mountain kingdom of the elves?" Gonfindl asked nervous.
"Yes...in fact I do, goodness that avalanche were destructive, they didn't stood a chance."
"*grinds teeth* I'm a survivor...*shows birthmark upon chest* I'm Gonfindl of the House Of Denethray. former prince of the mountain kingdom." gonfindl introduced causing me to drop a bowl with cranberries. "*wide eyes* my lord...*hears the lindir sing* then the rumours were true... I myself always feared none had survived, but due to what miracle..." Frincass asked.
"I'll tell you what really happened. Short after the delegation of Brumelei had left, without having the treaty they wanted so badly, we were hit by that avalanche. I don't want to make any accusations... but let me tell you that it is quite a co�ncidence that it occured short after they had made a few demands. They wanted to enslave us. But both the king as the rest of the crowd refused to be the servants of mortals and then... the disaster took place. I survived merely because the roof of my chambers more or less has shielded me from the boulders. With the help of my healing skills i were able to get out and escape to safety. Discovering that I were the sole survivor of my people." Gonfindl explained. "Young elf, it is indeed a serious matter. But as you said you can't make accusations without the propper evidence..."
"*sighes deeply* I'll never have that evidence Frincass, but I'll do my best to humiliate them, with that play of ours." Gonfindl responded "for the sake of my dead brethren." he added before going back inside.

A bit later I find him near the gate of our garden and approach them carefully. "Gonfindl?"
"Oh sorry my love, I know what you're going to ask... and I'll tell you why I never told you that I were a prince. I haven't got a kingdom anymore so I left my title with the dead. I decided to become a mere civilian so that I could start all over again and make my parents proud. The fact that a village of mortals came to us to set demands, were something so shocking that I must've placed it all to the background of my memories. And the avalanche, well I think no one ever really realized what happened." Gonfindl sighed while I sit down next to him. In the distance I hear Heavenwise sing a song and then I gaze at the stage "*giggles* Brumelei is finished with their songs, it is almost our turn, after a short pause..."
"*stands up* then we have work to do... come my love. We're going to make Heavenwise and Shishelinda shine like stars." Gonfindl announces proudly causing Golradir to applaude "well said my friend, well said. Now shall we? we still have to install the stage. For the first scene."
"*nods* this will be the biggest experiment we've ever faced, but I think that after all the training and all the help of both my mother and the Fairy Queen, we cannot do worse than them." I say before following both my husbands towards the stage where a few others were already busy with the preparations.

All the people fell quiet as the curtains were pushed aside and Heavenwise walked over the stage, his head held high and determined to humiliate the murderers of his best frien's family and relatives.
