After resting and being healed Lindor, Tindomerel and Tiri sat around a table in the Snow Rabbits Tavern & Inn, sharing fey-wine and bread. "Urgh....well if I drink more I suppose the stale taste will leave my mouth." Lindor said to them only half joking. "Now I must have you eat some bread from Templasse....oh she makes the most wonderful bread....or Isil's pies..." They were definatly an odd looking group, seeing as how the Tavern was full of humans and dwarves...as well as a few cloaked figures. "Is it just me or are they staring at us?" Tiri asked looking around the room supicously.
"It's you." Lindor said bluntly, taking a swig of the wine, all this could definatly drive an elf to drink.... "Eat your bread."
"They are, they are! The fools are starin' at us..." Tiri continued ignoring Lindor.
"And they'll kill us if you use that tone again!" Tindomerel said sharply, but there was a hint of humor in her eyes. Probably brought on by the drink. The elven maiden smirked. "We told you...it's been awhile since we've been here...but you insisted on seeing one of our old haunts..."
"Ya didn't tell me it was full of criminals and drunkards!" Tiri cried, eyes from a few of the patrons shifted his way. "Or that 'awhile' meant decades!"
Lindor burst into laughter, and Tindomerel snickered at her little brother. Wiping away some tears from his eyes Lindor grinned at Tindomerel. "Well it hasn't changed that much...has it child?"
"No, back then they would of killed you for saying something like that." Tindomerel grinned back...the two burst into joint laughter, obviously remembering some old story. "Of course the night is young, theres plenty o'time for that."
No sooner had she spoke than a dwarf about the same height as Lindor strode over to the table. "May we help you Ai'atar?" Tindomerel's voice changed making it a soft, sweet sound, like a summer breeze or wind chimes, and she took another sip of wine.
The dwarf blushed under his beard. "I heard you are musicians of old?"
Lindor and Tindomerel exchanged glances of mixed worry and amusment. Tiri was left dumbfounded, the fact that the dwarf even was speaking to him was a source of confusion in it's self for the young elf. "Nah ya must be-"
"How is it you came to know such a fact?" Lindor asked curiuosly, leaning over his chair to look at the dwarf.
"My Great Grandmother Thistle..." The dawrf blushed again when he looked at Tindomerel. "Told me of a tiny elf who gathered her and those of other races to form a travelling band of sorts..."
"Thistle!" Tindomerel gasped looking at Lindor. His face paled...but it sooned returned to normal, an old painful memory passing.
"Yes, she had the most beautiful voice I'd ever heard." Lindor said as though lost in thought.
"And my kinfolk and I were wondering if you would play us something...something she would of sang too..." The dwarf asked in a very bold and matter of fact way.
"Of course Spangaer." Lindor said with a smile. Hanging his cloak of his chair, he stood on it, drew a beautiful silver flute...it's make unlike that of any seen. Tindomerel stood from her chair, revealing a longer flute of the same make, it's designs symbolic of many years departed. Lindor started, the tune fast, happy, bringing joy and a smile to everyone in the room. A few began to dance....Tindomerel then joined in, her music slower, lighter, relaxing, yet energizing. The two played a harmony in such away only thought to be played by orchestras, it was like a dance in it's self, the notes spinning, twirling, jumping, lengthening, shortening, mingling......
Tiri sat jaw hanging open wide eyed...he had know idea Lindor or his sister had such a talent! Seeing a lonley young girl with out a dance partner, he went up to her and as a gentlemen spent the night dancing away....
A feeling passed over Lindor....and he knew....~Zhepphyr...~ The intricate pattern of the music continued...
