*gazes at the nights sky and then shakes head* It has been a week since Fallana and Shahagin have left, where could they be..." Golradir mutters while taking a cup of milk. "*gazes at me* and that disturbing report of our black crow Corben, that Illisse has to leave her home again altough they just have arrived...the poor girl hasn't got any peace..."
"*nods* I know Golradir, I hope that they do take some private time for themselves, after all, lovemaking is a part of a relationship." I respond while taking Haldir Finrod in my arms. Suddenly Gonfindl approaches and gasps "*points upward* There they are...*freezes* oh no, Isil, Fallana and Shahagin...they are approaching, but...their dragons seem to carry something..." Alarmed I jump up and still carrying my son I run towards the dragonslair where The two dragons drop a rather exhausted and near dead Zhepphyr. "*whispers* give Haldir to me please..." With tears in my eyes I give my son to Fallana before dropping onto my knees in front of my dragon. "*sobs* Zhepphyr? Ow please don't be dead...Zhepphyr? *turns to Shahagin* where have you found him?" I whisper. Shahagin looks at me and then sighes "Near the mountains of Wind, 25 miles south from Tel'Ruid. Appearantly he has delivered the goods and then returned, but considdering the way we found him... I have reasons to believe that he has smashed himself against the mountain." Shahagin responded. I gaze at Zhepphyr and pet his head softly. "*sobs more* Ow Zhepphyr forgive me, I've sent you into your death... and you have such beautiful youngs...yes, the eggs have hatched a week ago, you should see them..."
"*opens eyes* ah? well then there is no reason for you to grieve over a dragon whose time has come to leave the mortal world. No Isil my brave mistress, you haven't sent me into my death, my blindness came rather earlier than I expected, after I had delivered the goods I were on my way home, when I suddnely were no longer able to see. You can imagine how glad I were when I heard Fallana's voice. And I'm glad that I can die right here...being able to hear your sweet voice one more time...*rubs nose against my cheek* don't cry, I had a wonderfull life. It were you who liberated me out of my hibernation, and it were you who gave me a wonderfull life. *grins* I'll remember that day that you took Gonfindl with you and...made love upon my back, high in the sky...*laughs and coughs* ow my head...no Isil I'll never forget you, n'or your two husbands and your kiddies... Do me a favour and ride one of my offspring in the future, they'll serve you well" Zhepphyr spoke with a rather fade voice. I pet his nose and cry silent tears as I watch my friend blow out his final breath and then remains motionless. "*cries loud* Zhepphyr!!! No...*shakes head* my friend, rest in peace, yes rest now for you had a long day...I'll respect your last wish. And tame one of your offspring..." I sob. Golradir and Gonfindl then embrace me tender as I cry over my fallen comrad. Tvalarish releases a roar and is answered by all the other dragons as if they payed their last respects to Zhepphyr. "*wipes tears away* all we can do now is give him a decent funeral..." Shahagin whispered. At a distance Oleria and Landin watched the whole scene but decided to remain aside. I stand up and then sigh deeply before gazing at my lost friend. "you're right my friend, I'll grieve for you...as long as it is needed..." Both my husbands give eachother a nod of understanding and guide me away back to the bakery where Shishelinda seemed to wait. "Pardon me lady Isil but Saelbeth is hungry, I'm sorry for your loss, milady." she whispered. Without a word I move upstairs and take a crying Saelbeth in my arms before allowing him to drink from my bosom. "*cries* ow Zhepphyr..." I whisper before crying my eyes out, making my son wet with tears...
At the entrance of the bakery both Gonfindl and Golradir sigh and then gaze at the dead dragon. both hear me cry and tears also escape out of their eyes as they too grieve for the loss of a good friend. "*whispers* he could be grumpy and stubborn sometimes, but...he were a good friend."
"*nods* I agree Gonfindl, but were it true what he said? about you and Isil?"
"Yes, we did made love upon his back, since that were the only private place we could find. I'll never forget that he looked over his shoulder and asked if we were comfortable enough...ow my we were blushing..." Gonfindl whispered before crying too. Golradir placed a hand upon Gonfindls shoulder and then sighed deeply, he hardly knew Zhepphyr but the little time that they had spent together, he'd never forget.
