I am Lessien Ciryatan, Elf-Maiden of Mirkwood. I was orphaned at birth and raised and trained for battle by my brother, Elladan, and his best friend, Legolas Greenleaf, in Mirkwood until Legolas joined the Fellowship and my brother was killed in the War of the Ring.

I have with me only the Elven-blade Ithilkar (moon-blade) and my ever-faithful companion, Morurya, who is my horse. I have stumbled upon your village, tired and in need of a place to rest.
