Meravyel tacked the note onto the Tao bulletin board.

Azeron, do not worry too much. I will return with Garreth's heart. Or I will not return.

She signed the bottom with a simple -M-.

Meravyel stood over the bed in the inn room she'd rented in Skara Brae. Her armor, and other equipment was laid out so that she might survey every detail. Lifting one sleeve of her tunic, she let it fall to the bed, the chain links sounding like a metallic waterfall as they settled. This would not do. Kneeling, she pulled a small chest from under the bed. Opening it, she began pulling out various items -of these, a small satchel she set on the bed. Once she had her special leather armor out, she put the other random objects back into the chest, closing it, relocking it, and slid it back into the shadows under the bed.

Standing, she removed her outer clothing, and pulled on a fitted body suit. This would keep the leather from chaffing. Then, one piece at a time, she donned the leather armor. Each piece was specially crafted to fit her form. It nearly melded onto her. A thing of shadows, the suit made her difficult to focus upon. ...which made it ideal for hunting. Especially for hunting something that could fight back.

Meravyel lifted her belt and fastened it around her waist. Normally she kept a leather tie in place, to secure her sword. This slowed down her temper, and kept her from drawing a blade that would prove just as deadly to her as it would to others. This time... she removed the leather tie. The satchel that had been earlier removed from the chest was likewise fastened about her person. These were the few 'prized' possessions she owned. If she were going on a trek that may cost her her very life, or draw her away for an extended time, these were things she wanted to have.

Meravyel rung the bell at the counter. Basil the innkeep bustled his way out of the kitchen and to the register book where she waited.

"Aye, miss?" Basil knew to be all business with the Lady Anardai.

"Basil, I will be leaving on a trip." Her voice was quiet, holding no emotion.

"Tha same 'rrangement as alwuz, miss?" It always unsettled the man how she was so... detached.

"No." Basil blinked at that, but she lifted a hand - a gesture that she was going to explain. "This is something from which I may not return." She set the key to her room down on the counter. Basil reached for it. As his hand settled on it, she slapped her hand down atop his and held him there. "I am leaving many of my worldly belongings in that room. I trust they will not be disturbed."

A grave nod was all he could manage. Her skin was like ice against his. She wasn't wearing her usual gloves. Instead, her hands were wrapped in bands of leather, leaving her fingers free. Where they touched his skin, he could feel his body's warmth being drawn.

Meravyel lifted her hand, freeing his, and he snatched it back to himself with the key. "If I do not return in a fortnight, anything in that room is yours. Consider it payment for holding the room."

He did not have an opportunity to answer before she was gone.

Meravyel returned to the Order's halls. She had some preparations to make before she could begin hunting Garreth.
