"Vedui'" comes from Sindarin and means, literally, "last". The phrase "Ai! Na(a) vedui', Dunadan." comes from the Fellowship of the Ring by Tolkien. It means "Ah! At last, man-of-the-west". Thus "vedui'" has become a colloquial greeting among the Elves.

If, as in some worlds, the Drow split from the surface Elves after the Kin-Slaying, which tolled the death knell for Quenya as a spoken language, then they may well have vedui' in their tongue. If the split occured before the Kin-Slaying, then they will not use vedui' unless we have a rare case of parallel evolution.

Hope this helps.

Ethriel
