Rellah had left the Arrow when she woke again. It had been very early in the morning, and she had not encountered another soul. Strangely enough, Rellah felt someone, perhaps something, was with her as she mounted Ru. Her curious violet eyes wandered the trees outside the stables. Must be the aftereffects of this healing magic, Rellah dismissed her thought as she gently nudged Ru's side, and he began to trot into the misty trees.
Rellah lost track of time as Ru lead them deeper into the woods. She found herself thinking again of the golden elf who had saved her. When a tree branch almost knocked her off Ru, Rellah's mind came back down from the clouds. "Ru! You did that on purpose!"
The horse blew air out of his nostrils, his way of telling her she was right in her assumption, and Rellah laughed. "It's all right. If I keep dwelling on this, I might find myself in more trouhle, such as those nasty lizardmen."
Before long, Rellah found herself on the outskirts of Yew, but she would not be staying in this town. She needed a city, with shops of all sorts for her needs. They continued northwest to the moongate. Stepping through it, Rellah concentrated on her destination. Britain.
The city was bustling with all sorts of townspeople. Rellah smelled delicious food coming from the nearby taverns on the waterfront. Making a mental note to get something to eat later, Rellah continued on, toward the bank. She had learned not to stay at the bank long, as this one in particular was always crowded. People came here to sell their wares, or, they were a common pickpocket looking to steal items and money.
I know I saw a tailoring shop near here, Rellah scanned the area. Perhaps over there..
The Lord's Clothiers sign came into view and Rellah dismounted Ru, leading him with a hand on his neck toward the shop. Passerbys shook their heads as Rellah left Ru untied to anything. I'd like to see someone steal my horse, her full pink lips curling into a smile, as she opened the wooden door, stepping into the small tailoring shop.
"Hello, mi'lady!" a plump, aged woman greeted her, grey eyes sparkling. "How can I assist thee today?"
Rellah laid her pack on the table, pulling out some of her leather armour. "I need some of this mended, if it is possible."
The woman put on her specs and surveyed the damage. "Yes, yes, this can be fixed. About an hour, my dear, and it will be ready."
"Thank you, I shall return," Rellah smiled and exited the shop.
Sitting on Ru's back was a pigeon, with something tied upon his leg. Curious, Rellah looked around at the people walking in the street, but no one seemed to notice the bird, so she approached it slowly.
"Hey there, little one," Rellah whispered as she scratched its neck with her finger. "What's this you have here?"
Rellah untied the parchment from the little pigeon's leg. Unfolding it, she began to read:
Rellah, I have heard you have recently came to TelRuid. I would like to extend an invitation for a tour. If you are interested please let me know a time where we could meet.
Lucky
Smiling, Rellah flipped the parchment over, pulling out a small ink bottle and pen from her pack.
Dear Lucky,
I would be both honored and delighted with a guided tour of Tel'Ruid. I have explored a very small portion myself, such as the Library where I've been studying the language. I also have grown quite familiar with The Silver Arrow, especially these last few days. Unfortunately, I will not make it back today, as I am in Britain, but tomorrow perhaps, Tarion, in the afternoon, about 1 o'clock, at The Silver Arrow?
I'm sure that if this is not a good time or day, you'll get back to me and we can reschedule.
I thank you in advance for your kindness and hospitality.
Sincerely yours,
Rellah
Feeling satisfied with her message, Rellah let it dry a bit longer before folding it back up and tying it to the little pigeon's leg. As soon as she moved her hands away, the little pigeon spread his wings, and soon was high overhead, flying back (a bit wobbly, she noticed) to his caretaker.
