Rellah Mir'ae was born as a Koada'Dal(high elf), her mother a enchantress, her father a wizard. Her parents had high ambitions for her; to become a high priestess and devote her life to Tunare. On the day Rellah was born, the mid-wife gasped as she stared into little Rellah's violet eyes. "Your daughter is meant for great things," she whispered as she passed the child to the mother. This of course, pleased Rellah's parents, they believed it meant she would become the high priestess they wanted her to be. Growing up, Rellah became something of a wild child, running around in the woods, playing with the Fier'Dal (wood elf) children rather than studying extra subjects in preparation for her clergy tests. And when her mother would catch her with the other children, she tried explaining how Rellah was meant for better things then to be playing with "those wood elves". Rellah never fully understood her mother's distaste for her friends, as she did not see what was so bad about being a different race than Koada'Dal. When she became of age to start her studies for the priestesshood in the cathedral, Rellah went to her parents to tell them she did not want to follow the path they so wished she would. "Nonesense, Rellah," her father brushed her off. "You're starting tomorrow. Not another word of it." "Father, I wish to study the arts of fighting. I want to learn to fence and shoot an arrow," Rellah persisted. Her mother gasped. "Surely you're not serious of becoming a palladin. You are too delicate for such things my dear." "A palladin is exactly what I want to become mother," Rellah's violet eyes lit up. "I knew we should have forbid you to play with the Fier'Dal..they've corrupted your mind sweet child," her father seemed disgusted by even saying the word. "And just look at your skin! Much darker than ours, but that has to be from the all the sunlight and dirt you played in when you were younger." "No, father, this has nothing to do with my wood elf friends. This is what I'm destined to do," Rellah became defensive. "I can feel it in my heart." "Rellah, you will not think of it again. You are destined to become a high priestess," her father raised his voice. "Now, go to bed, you've got a big day tomorrow." Rellah knew her parents would never listen. She made her way to her bedroom, but not to sleep. She packed what she thought necessary, and a few treasured trinkets, and climbed out her window. She knew by running away, she would be disowned by her family, by her town, forever. What a disgrace to her family this would be. But she would not be locked away in some profession she would hate for all her life. She had read about another world, a world called Brittainia, with many interesting cities. One in particular called Luna, the holy city of the palladin warriors. She would go there, learn the ways of the blade and bow, and become what she was meant to be. Tears rolled down her soft cheeks as she quietly slipped down to the ground, but she knew this was no time to regret. She was destined for great things.
