(( I can't honestly take credit for writing the earlyer tale, that was Del's player. All I contributed to it was's Casa's actions and words, and that came from the IG death any way. Any rate here's some more, this one I did write.))
Hunger was the feeling that started the young elf on the trek towards consciousness, though along the way the nightmares caught up and she woke with a startled yelp. Casa lay trembling for a long while, holding the sheets over her head not wanting to wake up, logic slowly worked it's way into her thoughts. It was just another nightmare. The smells and sounds around her told her she was indeed in her own bed, and in fact feeling more refreshed and alive than she had in quite some time.
With a tiny smile -attempting to dispel the lingering sense of some thing being amiss- Casa half flopped, half rolled out of her bed. Sitting with the sheets still wrapped around her shoulders reaching for the pouch of snacks she alwayes kept handy. She then noticed a lock of her hair hanging out of her pony tail. She stared at it a long moment, her sleep fogged mind trying to remember what exactly was wrong with having some loose strands of hair. When realization finally dawned Casa's jaw dropped as one hand reached up to pull a bit more hair loose, it was defiantly red, not the sun kissed blonde her locks had always been. Her hands frantically patted at her scalp at once feeling the other differences. Some how her hair was longer, thicker and wrapped around it's self in a knot instead of being held by a strip of leather in a pony tail.
Swallowing and closing her eyes Casa sat for a moment thinking, or rather trying not to think of the nightmares she'd been having. They were different than the evil ones she'd had since bonding to Dhampir. These new dreams were all at once more and less terrifying in ways her mind would not let her dwell on just yet.
Hesitantly she opened her eyes peering down at delicate hands that were not her own resting lightly on thighs to small and slender to fill the armor she fought in. The young elf bolted from her room -it was really more of a controlled stumble than any coordinated movement- holding back tears and emotions threatening to over whelm her she wobbled across a short stretch of yard to stop at the water barrel.
Casa stared a long moment at the some what hazed face looking back at her. While she was by no means ugly Casa couldn't help but stare at her new reflection. Her face had been square, and her nose stubborn, for all the other redeeming qualities it had formerly held it had always been obvious she wasn't a full blooded fey -testimony to her Qualinesti mother's line- this fact no longer held true. Slightly rounder over all with a delicately pointed chin and high cheek bones. Her eyes seemed to fit her face better not being as wide as before, and her ears. She tilted her head, lose red hair falling to almost touch the waters surface, her ears were no longer ordinary save a sharp point at the tips, but longer more graceful cutting easily through her thick new mane of red to stand out pale and perfect. She stared at herself for a long while before realizing that she was out in little more than a sheet, not wanting to attract any sort of attention she fled back inside.
That afternoon was particular frustrating for Casa. She got the hang of walking and other basic movements easy enough, though she had a greater than average chance of tripping or knocking into things, but it frustrated her to no end that she couldn't seem to make her fingers work. Opening a trunk for some cloths that were far to big took an hour, and after all that trouble she gave up on trying to brush and braid her hair any time soon. She could pick up the pitcher of water, but making her writs turn just so to pour into the goblet on the table was beyond her. She ended up stomping out to stick her face in the water barrel for a drink and discovered that stomping helped ease into coordination. Any one happening around the Daemon tavern would wonder at some poor deranged moon elf stomping around the shared yard area, shaking her hands and trying to wiggle her fingers, muttering profanities ever so often.
All her activity was a desperate attempt to bury the questions that were creeping in the back of her mind. Thoughts flicked from one thing to another with out any particular pattern, occasionally she'd stop confused by a memory that didn't quite fit, but those seemed to fade before she could touch on them. She didn't think she'd been enchanted -there was a fuzzy almost disconnected feel to the entire thing- and Casa seriously doubted that she could survive with such a powerful enchantment as queasy as a simple moongate made her. Perhaps I'm not... me?
There was also another new sensation, one that could not be ignored. She couldn't feel any sort of sense from Dhampir. The vampires thoughts and violent emotions were lost to her. It was frightening at first, she didn't know if he was dead -which she thought should bother her more than it was- or if some how their souls were no longer meshed. She tried to worry about him, and the lack of connection, but the sheer relief of being able to hear and feel the woods around her with out the vile taint pushed the half hearted fretting aside.
It was dark when she finally went back to her bed for some much needed rest. Casa almost missed the roll of parchment that had slipped behind her pillow. Managing to get one finger straight she worked and wiggled the parchment till she freeded it from the pillow. It took much more effort to gingerly unroll the thing. Squinting slightly, realizing her eyesight wasn't up to speed either, Casa read the flowing hand writing by a lanterns steady glow.
What does it feel to be free?
