My journey began just after burying Gromir, as I started trough the wild lands west of the Hills. I figured that Corellons powers were most strongly manifested in forests, so it was only logical to assume that my mothers portal opened up near another of the forests of Middle-Earth. Since Mirkwood was the closest one, I made my way there. After less than a days walk from the hills, around dusk, I heard voices from a pack of trees near the path I was walking on. I approached cautiously, minding my every stepmy every breath. When I found myself hidden in the shadow of a bush, I tensed my hearing and listened carefully. The pieces of conversation that I heard were most amusing. There were two voices Twas not for your stupid scientists curiosity we wouldnt have been in this mess! said one. Bah! Stop being a simpleton and a critic of things that should not be criticized! Twas your foolish attempt at conversation that got us caught! I could hardly help myself laughing when I slowly came out from my concealment and looked upon a site that few get to see: Two orcs, both dressed in fine leather leggings and velvet tunics were hanging tied by the ankles from the boughs of a large tree. Aside from the rich clothing, there were other distinctive traits of these nobles among the orcs: a monocle hanging from the pocket of one, the well groomed hair of the other and a sweet scent of lavender emanating from both. A rare site indeed...who are you...er...em...gentlemen?! I asked still puzzled by their non-orcish demeanor. Hmph! said the elderly one Typical for elves to ask questions before aiding a poor soul in mortal danger! realizing the idiocy of my previous question, I quickly took out my dagger and cut the orcs down, pushing with my shoulders against their backs to help them land on their feet (more or less). Now that you are on firm ground, might I ask who you are fine sirs? My name is Seymour Advari and this is Sir Reginald Varald the younger one replied. We are scholars and researchers of strange beasts and places. We came to this area having heard rumors of an Underdark gate somewhere around here. Just as we were investigating a set of tracks, we were beset by a dozen dark-skinned elves Drow the other interrupted thank you...as I was saying, they surrounded us, and no matter how much we tried to reason with them, they tied us up and were intending to use us as target practice for their archers when returning from the hunt. Seymour concluded bowing swiftly and starting to walk toward the path I was following a while before. Now, if there arent any more questions, we would like to get as far away as possible before the Drow return and decide to use us as moving targets instead! having said thusly, Sir Reginald went after his friend and disappeared behind some bushes. Drow I thoughtI had learned so much about these mysterious elves with dark skin. I was really excited to the thought of seeing some, so excited in fact that I did not notice a shadow coming up behind me until it was too late, and my neck was firmly held by the strong arm of a black skinned creature that stood behind me Ka vo ashnag elach? what have we here? said the Drow maiden snickering seems you release play things (her Common was not very good) now we play with you. Elf makes...a pause thinking of the word...more good sport! I felt her arm tightening around my neck and crushing my air-pipe. My breath came harder and harder and my vision began to blur...then there was nothing all I saw was darkness...
