I thank you for your interest Rayvyn...you are one of few that didn't say "pity" and just walked away upon hearing my tale...I am sad that your path trough life was similar to mine...I would not wish such a fate not even upon my worst enemy. If you wish to learn more about my life, I would be glad to share it. I would like to begin with a few words about my parentsIt was a long time ago that I last saw them, but I still remember them as if I am staring into their eyes as I speak. My father, tall and lean, with brown-greenish hair, deep green eyes and always wearing a brown robe adorned with a single small sapphire. He was wise and braveonce he stopped a band of ruffians that wanted to burn down Oakenshade in order to smoke out one of their comrades that crossed them in some way or another. They were some of the few outsiders that ever reached our forest, so there was no resistance from our side for them to meet. My father was forced to fight them single handedly, gaining a nasty scar on the left cheek that, no matter how heard she tried, my mother could not cureah...my motherso very fair, so very kindpearl-white skin, long silver hair, bright grey eyesall she did all day was pray and take care of those in need. She never wanted anything in return for healing the sick, or advising the troubled or helping the helplessshe always wore a white robe with a strange drawing embroidered on it by her own hands. It was a silver claw that held a wide open eye between its talons. My mother, Evera she was called, did not know what it meant. She said she dreamt it once and felt compelled to place it close to her heart she would saymy father and my mother were the closest ties I had to this worldwhen they were taken from me, I thought I would never feel the love of a parent againbut I was wrongI found it in Gromir. He was a great man, greater than most I have met before or since, in both courage and kindness. He was a Runemaster, being thus able to ensconce magical runes of power upon his weapon and armor. He was also the Keeper of the arms, a sort of battle master and second only to Durbin who was the king of the Iron Dwarves in that time. He looked a lot like most dwarves, stout and wide, strong and not fat, with a long grey beard and a big nose. But there was something about him that made him very different from any other dwarf: on his neck he had a birthmark in the shape of a black warhammer. Whenever he was angry or when he fought in a battle, that hammer would glow with a dim white light and when staring into it, you could almost see it strike into the bodies of his foes. He always said it was the sign of Thor himself upon him, granting him strength and courage in battle. I had many adventures after leaving the Iron Hills, some of good fortune and some of bad, adventures that shaped me into what I am todaythe first one began just after leaving the dwarven stronghold, but thats another story
