Elean sat on his heels next to a stream near the Glade. Listening to the calmness of the trickling water, he thought about his homeland. He thought about the recent turn of events, and wondered how his ancestors, the Sylvan ancestors, survived from the daemon's clutches. What were they like? Where would I be if this didn't come to pass? For one... if it hadn't come to pass, he would have been the leader of a village. No...I'm not cut out to be a big leader. He also wouldn't have met Nedlidee, and come to love her. She was kind, and loved me....I wouldn't want that to not have happened....but I also wouldn't have lost he either...

Out of the night sky, a white dove lands on his right shoulder, snapping Elean out of his silent brooding. He turned his head to find the dove looking back at him with its beady little eyes. The look it gave him reminded him of his departed love, and then the bird took wing and was lost to his sight in a short time. He was puzzled...that had never happened before. He thought for aminute until he realize waht it meant: it was a messafe from her..his love, it meant that she was free, like the bird...and it was a dove to symbolize that she was at peace. He smiled. That she would bring him this mesage brought joy to his heart. Thinking back to his previous thoughts, he concluded, Maybe some things are just meant to be. Maybe...her death...ny home's death...was meant for a reason...but what? He looked back in the direction of Tel'Ruid and a grin came to his face. Because all that happened...I have met this village and its inhabitants which I have to come to love...and that is why I continue to fight. To protect those that which I love.

He wasn't in a downtrodden mood any longer. He had a clear view of understanding now. Elean picked himself up from the ground, and walked back to his new home to get some much needed rest.
