Myra crouched behind the large boulder. She'd tracked this group of humans from the major roadway of Malas all the way out onto the broken islands to the south of Luna. They had raided a small caravan that was traveling to Luna, carrying goods from the sylvan lands of the pixies. Myra had happened upon the corpses of the fallen treefolk and a number of fae. Normally, she would turn a blind eye to such things, but this scene struck a chord within the elf maid, and set her on the murderers' trail. After only a few hours, moving swiftly through the realms of shadows between light and dark, Myra caught up with the group. As they traveled, she would pick them off, one by one. With each she felled, the stronger she felt, the more revitalized. Soon enough the brigands, now quite worried and paranoid, made it back to their camp. Fires were burning in tents here and there. The smell of roasting game drifted on the soft evening breeze. Hunting dogs barked and frolicked as their masters arrived home with the treasure of the day's raid. What could only be the wives of these vile men came out to greet them with warm smiles, hugs and kisses. Myra watched all of this from the deepening shadow the large boulder cast. She would wait until nightfall. As the evening progressed and the sun lowered in the sky, dropping below the horizon, Myra watched the routine life of a number of hours. Finally, when all had settled Myra drifted into the camp, her form completely hidden by the shadows that were her only constant companions.
The bloody slaughter that marked the outlaw encampment the next morning, no one would attribute to a lone elf maiden.

The exhilaration of the kill was not quick to leave Myra. The runes upon her bone-carved scimitar had drunk much blood, many lives that night. As the sun rose, she found herself walking somewhat carelessly through the forests of one of the broken islands.
Myra smiled, finishing a conversation with one of the local pixies, and turned just in time to see a malformed creature burst through the tree line. It was a large, lumbering creature, somewhat human in shape. Its arms were mismatched, as were its legs. None of what comprised the creature seemed to fit with the rest. It was a puzzle of a beast, seemingly constructed of 10 different men. Momentarily horrified at the blasphemous construction before her, Myra backed away. The pixie she'd been speaking with sped off through the trees. Myra's heel caught on a protruding root, and she fell to the ground. The beast turned its misshapen face toward her as she fell. Just as it began to advance, another foul creature came through the brush. With a long neck and walking on all fours, it sniffed the ground as it went. Clearly abyssal in nature, it seemed to be following the trail of gore the other was leaving behind.
Myra barely had her sword free of its scabbard before the monstrosity that towered over her brought down its meaty fist like a club. She managed only to lessen the crushing blow, however. Quickly she rolled to the side to avoid the second fist coming down. Too late. The creature Myra now recognized from her studies as a golem managed to crush her left arm with the second blow. Time slowed down for her as she heard and felt with searing pain the bone of her upper arm snap. She let out a scream as the golem then grabbed that same arm and wrenched it to the side. The broken bone ripped through the muscle of her arm. The bone protruding from the skin caused no small amount of blood to flow from Myra's arm. The sniffing creature she'd seen before set its sights upon her as well.
The golem lifted Myra like a ragdoll from the ground by her useless arm. The pain was blinding. Myra could feel the world growing dark as wave after wave of excruciating pain threatened to overtake her. With a determined effort, she swung wildly at the golem with her sword. Luck, or some other force was with her in that moment. Her sword caught the creature in the arm that held her. With something akin to a yelp, the creature released her. At that very moment, a ki-rin leapt into the small clearing, bowling over the golem. A unicorn soon joined the ki-rin in the fight and it was less than a moment before the two of them had felled the construct. Myra was lying stunned upon the ground where she'd fallen, blood pumping furiously from the damage to her arm. The unicorn gracefully bowed out of the clearing as the ki-rin turned upon the four-legged fiend that was quickly making its way toward Myra. With a summoned spell and a quick trample, the fiend lay dead as well. "Gore fiends..." the ki-rin seemed to mumble as it turned to Myra. "Are you well, young elfma-"
The ki-rin's shared thoughts to Myra cut short as its eyes came to rest upon the bone blade in her hand, lying flat on the ground. Anger flared in its eyes "Dark trafficker!" The ki-rin focused its wrath on Myra, but was distracted at the last moment by the pixie she'd spoken with earlier. Taking that opportunity, Myra stumbled her way out of the clearing as fast as her legs could carry her, sheathing her sword. After what seemed like miles - though likely was a much shorter distance - Myra collapsed. Just before her world faded to darkness, she crawled into the hollow of a tree.
