Light of Day

The sun light reflected through the cascading water of the Justice Falls, just north of the elven village of Tel'Ruid. Scintillating rainbows danced about the small enclave behind the wet curtain, awakening the elfmaid that slept within.

Myra sat up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes, and offering up a silent prayer to an unnamed power for a dreamless night. The bracelet on her wrist tugged on an errant strand of hair, reminding her of its presence. It was rare she wore jewelry, but this was her prize for the recent Bardic Competition in the Glade. She'd not expected to place at all, but she could hardly resist the pull of a crowd eager to hear her perform. She'd pulled out an old work of hers, The Phoenix, thinking it appropriate for the Springtime theme. She'd chosen well, apparently. Myra smiled just slightly as she stood and disrobed for her morning bath.

The waters of the falls were crisp and quite cold. Just the thing to wake one up on a slow morning.

When she'd finished, Myra pulled herself back up into the small cave behind the falls and redressed. Today she'd practice her hunting skills. In the caves she'd been staying in, one had only to wait for unsuspecting prey to pass by... She was adept at ambushing now... but her skills at hunting prey down were diminished. Besides, her blade skills needed practice.

It was time to stop hiding from the world and step out into the light of day once more.
