The wind whipped through his hair, which was held back from his face by a bandana, as a young elf walked through the woods with two companions trailing not far behind. This young elf was Eleaie’ Domeien, and his elven companions were the bladesingers Valdolen and Q’wellen. After a long walk, the forest ended abruptly into a road, with more woods on the other side. Before crossing, they heard the sound of a wagon, possibly a merchant, make its way down the road towards the town of Yew. Not wanting to be seen, the party lay concealed in the woods. The wagon didn’t get the chance to pass by, for from the other side of the road came a band of bandits that swarmed the wagon, and took the merchant hostage. Eleaie’ counted ten of them, and picking out the leader by seeing the only one that had a gem in his bandana. Looking first to Valdolen, then to Q’wellen, he gripped his sword hilt and awaited the order. Valdolen nods, and Q’wellen follows suit. After that, Eleaie’ calmly walks out into the road, draws his sword, and holding that in one hand, he mutters “In Por Ylem” and a magic missile shoots from his outstretched hand and hits one of the bandits in the neck. The bandit fell to the ground, holding a hand to his neck to try and stop the bleeding. With a cry from their leader, the bandits all brandished steel. He muttered something else, “In Flam Grav” and a wall of flame erupted beneath the feet of six of the thieves. They burned, and screamed and then ran off into the woods, toward Valdolen and Q’wellen. The six men were cut down mercilessly as they ran. The leader then shouted, “Kill him! Kill him!” Reluctantly, the remaining two bandits yelled battle cries, and ran forth. The first was going for a thrust, and Eleaie’ easily sidestepped it and tripped him. The second thrust downwards, only to be warded off by elvish made steel. With a swing of his own, the bandit’s poorly crafted steel shattered in his hands, and Eleaie’ followed up the sword strike with an elbow to the man’s face, breaking his nose. The leader looked around fearfully at his routed band of bandits that had never lost before, and ran off into the woods. The bandit that had been tripped ran off after his leader. Then Eleaie’ walked back into the woods that he had appeared from. The merchant only stared after him in disbelief. He thought that no one would believe that a single warrior just appeared from the woods and vanquished a band of thieves. The three elves marched back off to Tel’Ruid without much talk, leaving a surprised and stunned merchant to tell people what he just saw.
