Myra sat in the center of the small tower's roof looking at the cracked pots and dried dead plants. She'd been sitting there like that for near to an hour. Those poor plants had depended on her to keep them healthy, alive. And, like so many others, she'd failed them. Always a failure to take care of those around you.Myra frowned and stood up. They were just plants. And she had had more important matters to attend. Dusting off her dusty traveling clothes, she set about dumping the dead plants and their infested dirt into a barrel. The cracked pots she likewise threw away. She then set about cleaning the home she had left to her house-mate, Feanor.
A note lay upon Feanor's bed. How old it was, she could not tell. But it was addressed to her so she picked it up and read it. He had been worried when her plants started to wither. How long ago had she gone off to... It had been some time, she supposed, though she remembered little of it in the way of time passed. Out of courtesy and a genuine care for Feanor's peace of mind, she penned a short letter letting him know she'd returned.
That done, the serious tones of her mind shifted. Now it was time to do some Yule gift shopping.
