Namalee walked into the clearing near the waterfall that was just around the corner from the Elven city, Tel'Ruid. She was supposed to meet Elean here for their first lesson in the ancient writings, but looking around she could not find him. As she looked around for him, she happened to glance over to the stream, where he had taught her his meditation exercise the other day, and found him floating there at peace...and stark naked. Namalee gasped and turned quickly around covering her eyes in total embarrassment. She tried to calm her thoughts and listened as he climbed out of the water to dress himself. After a few moments of rustling clothing, he bade her to turn around, that he was dressed and ready to begin the days lesson. Slowly turning around, Namalee blinked a few times before settling herself on the soft grass beside him to begin their first lesson.
Opening one of the books she brought, she warned him that they would not be starting with one of the ancient tombs that she had, but with a mythical poem that had supposedly come from a real life occurance. He nodded and she began to read..."In the Wind where
The Balance
Is Whispered in
Hallways
In the Wind where
The Magic
Flows all through
The Night
There lives Mages and
Mages
With robes made of
Whole Days
Reading books full of
Doing
Printed on Light
In the Wind where
The Lovers
Are crossed under
Shadows
Where they meet and
Are parted
By the Orders of
Fate
The Girl becomes
Tree,
And thus becomes
Widow
The Boy becomes
Earth,
And wanders will
Late
In the Wind are the
Monsters
First Born First
Created
When Chanting and
Ether
Mix meddling and
Nigh
Fear going to Wind,
Fear finding its
Plaitings,
Go not to the Snakehills,
Lest You Care to Die!"
Looking up, Namalee began to break down each verse and explain to Elean what they meant. It was clear that he was a very bright young elf and she soon found out that they held the same opinions and ideas on how the poem came to be. After discussing the meaning of the poem, they both agreed that there was more to the story than that particular book lead people to believe; and so they agreed to travel to Wind some day to find the answers to the rise of the reapers (the girl that became the tree). Their hope was that they could cure the world of the horrible monsters if they happened to find the journal of the mage that brought them into being.
Finishing their discussion, they laid back in the grass to bask in the bright evening sun. They talked about their family and their lives in general. They spoke of their likes and dislikes and their hopes and dreams. They played in the stream until they both caught a chill and got out to sit by a warm fire to dry. At one point, as dusk set in, Namalee fell asleep leaning against Elean. As she slept peacefully, she dreamed of floating above the earth on a light fluffy cloud that wrapped her in its warmth. Just as subtly as the wind shifting directions, the cloud beneath her changed into a warm male body. They lay there in total comfort as they looked down on a passing field. Just as she drifted off to sleep in her dream, the sky turned black and the cloud beneath her turned cold and wet. She then awoke to a lite drizzle. Nudging Elean awake, they hurried under a tree before the sky let loose and the rain poured down upon them. Cuddling close underneath a spare robe Namalee had brought, they kept warm and slept the night away, only waking at day break just as the sky was clearing, bringing to it a gorgeous rainbow to usher in the wonderful day ahead.
Rubbing the sleep from their eyes they got up and started the short, quiet walk back to Tel'Ruid to see if the elves were awake yet and to continue on with their normal dayly routines until their next lesson by the falls.
