A Greeting Farewell

'Quel undome, il'er!

I am writing from a remote and public internet cafe somewhere in Virginia! *giggles* Firstly let me apologize for being so absent so long! Though I shall also relate just what lead to the end I am now in.

At midday one Friday afternoon - seemingly ages ago - two persons in Navy dress uniform approached me and informed me that I would be catching the next guided-missile destroyer out to my battlegroup that very same evening! So much for good-byes! Yet, such is the way of life, at times. Eek! I miss playing! Anyway - from then 'til now I have been on a Sprewence-class Destroyer (DD-977) hunting around in the Atlantic Ocean during a rather large scale JTFX (Jopint Fleet Exercise). The 'grown-up' way to play 'hide and seek' and 'tag'. *winks* *giggles*

Now that is over - though before the year is out my ship is to go on its' last combat deployment of 6+ months! Sad am I to say that I will not be home for Thanksgiving or Christmas - and will be stepping back on U.S. soil sometime next summer. *frown* And - even though we have internet on the ship - I can't use it! *narrows her deep sapphire eyes* I can only view - not interact - else I would have let any number of you know (most preferably all)!

*giggles* That's not to say I didn't try installing UO on the ship's LAN, the only problem was the malestorm of a firewall that one would have to get through to access something like Origin Systems' patching and hosting computers! *smiles a little* I did try - *giggles* - though I was quickly found and informed NOT to do so again. *sigh - grin*

I am getting a few weeks leave in the soon-to-be-recent-past, so in all *hope* I will be able to get internet access and resolve some of the in-game issues that my absence has created - not in-character mind you (I would love to - though I doubt very much that it will happen - time is the master of *all* things, indeed...save Love - and Truth...*winks*)

Though, in that time I hope to make ammends with Copper for letting me use her house - and I promised to give it back before leaving, too! *frown* I am *very* sorry, in earnest for that.

On the brighter side, though I will be gone until next summer (and Lord knows if it is not longer) *smiles a little* I *do* have E-mail on the ship. So - if anyone wants to carry on an E-mail game - write! The only problem with that is - of course - E-mail is a massively two-way-exclusive way to RP - so while I could play many different singular games, having more than one person in a game would be rather difficult to do (but if I could! Eek! Caelreth *winks-giggle*, Myra, Khalin, Strongbow, Talanithus, Brisid, Mely, Thranduil, Anga, Celeb, Copper, Sion, DK, and more! Names escape me now - but I really *am* thinking about you; *smiles*).

*frown* Yet - I suppose there is a reason that online-multiplayer RPG's exist after all. *giggles a little* Either way - I would wish to apologize again to you all for so abruptly disappearing. There is really no other experience quite like Tel'Mithrim - of this I am certain - and saddened in slight. *smiles a little* I hope to re-acquaint with you all when the time comes.

Oh! As you might see (in my e-mail address) my last name is Sharier! *giggles!* In all of the running around I have done since then (not all of it at sea - though a weekend is hardly a break), I married! *smiles!* And I was four hours late to my own wedding (blame Delta!). But - I am very happily wed, and am quite pleased that my squeeze loves to RP just as much as I do - though is not too keen about UO. *giggles* In time, I suppose. *grins!*
