Galethien followed the forest path as the silver light from the full moon illuminated the way. Deciding to walk home, thoughts of this eve spinning around in her head. Galethien pulled her cloak closer around her to ward off the faint chill of the night air, putting her hands in the pocket of her skirt. Shaking her head as she thought of the Ruin Seek, she had taken too long to find the first bag. Finally finding it she quickly recalled to the next and at last to last recall place. Laughing as she see the vision of herself running amuck in the woods looking for her next bag.A shiver of warmth ran through Gal, as she thought of tonight’s ceremony. A sense of peacefulness and understanding was growing stronger with each night that passed flooding her whole being. Tonight the temple seemed to be filled with an essence, as the resonance of chanting vibrating through out the room. And as the ceremony had drawn to a close, shout of “Drow” was heard. There was a great scramble as some elves and guest alike parted, some out side to face the Drow and others stayed behind to protect the precious seed. The sound of battle rang through the air as the Drow were finally pushed back, at least for the moment. The seed still resided untouched and safe inside the temple.
Up a head Galethien saw that the lantern on her front porch was lit. Drawing closer, Gal thought she heard a whisper, turning around to look among the trees and listened. Not hearing any sound she started walking farther down the path. Gal felt a gentle radiance of warmth in the palm of her hand and realized she was clutching the crystal.
“Galethien” a voice called from within the woods, she turned towards the edge of the path and step into the woods.
Glancing in the direction she thought the voice was coming from, but did not see anything but shadows dancing by the light of the moon.
The voice came this time much louder as it seamed to come from among the trees.
“There was one among you tonight. Who was not who she said she was. There was doubt. Did you not come here as an outcast from your own? Were you not excepted with out any conviction? Do you not believe that you should give this one among the same chance of trust that was bestowed upon you?”
The forest grew silent. Gal listened but the voice was no more.
There was one among tonight at the temple, Gal remembered. A Lady Devina, yes that was her name. A Drow who claimed not be one, but of goodly elven descent. There had been much doubt within herself about which alignment Lady Devina was from. Thinking back over her past, yes she should be given the same, which would be right thing to do.
Gal walked to her porch; fumbling for her key, realized she was still holding the crystal in which it gave no warmth any longer. She took the crystal from her pocket and gazed upon it, but it was clouded. Placing it back in the pocket and pulling out her key, she unlocked the door, stepped in quietly closing it behind her.
