"All remember the battle of Trinsic, yet none know the whole horrific truth of what happened that day.
We were a secluded village...we talked and spoke to none knowing the hatred and racism of the Men in the outside world. It was our lack of interaction that was our downfall.
My people, the Elves of the Greythorne Wood, harvested Moonsalve...a sacred herb known only to my people, capable of curing the gravest of injuries. There was a touch of the Gods in those herbs, yet now...I am afraid...they are all destroyed. That does not matter. It is my family and my slain kindred that truly does.
The Men, knowing war was raising soon and tipped off from a wicked informant, came to our village and demanded the Elders for the herb. All of it. We refused knowing that it would be used as a weapon for their sick and evil kind...and so...they destroyed the grove we lived in, beleiving if they could not have the Moonsalve...none could. I can still smell the burning corpses of my Kindred.
My brother Kohan was slain while taking me to a close friend of the Grove. He was an elderly half-elven gent who raised me well...teaching me of honor, battle, valor, friendship, trust...and love. There I met my closest friend Reyn...who I fear...is lost.
At the age of seventy, rather young I know, I left home in search of adventure and to find others of my kind...fearing they were all destroyed.
I still remember my Elders telling me of a Sacred Grove where humans and Elves came together in peace and there was no battle or strife. I actively searched for the Grove and for The Grey Company. I wanted...nay...I needed to be a member of the Company. All of the valorous tales I have heard...of heroism, and battle, and adventure, and brotherhood...everything!!! It is all that keeps me sane in this insane world...to be a member of The Company...to be with my brothers until I pass to the next world.
I am a noble apprentice, I can carry a blade and defend myself. I can play the lute and harp well and can amuse any audience. I am polite as any who have met me can tell. Most of all...I am eager to learn! I beg any of you...I only beg you to please take me under your wing, show me the ways of the Company and let me fulfill my dream. I thank you...everyone."
