Myra spent another late night... but this time it was in the small confines of her private study. The only light flickered from a single, half melted candle on the corner of her desk. With a steady rhythm, her quill scratched out her notes.Narvinye 12, Valenya
Innocently enough, I decided to go to the Trinsic Town Council meeting. I wanted to see my new friend, Galahad, again. It has been such a long while since I have felt... carefree and alive. The change, no matter how brief it may be, is welcome. And embraced.
Things were moving along, as boring as any meeting is... When a gate appeared before the Council room table. I, of course, expected latecomers. Perhaps The Shadow, as he was said to be the Lord Protector of Trinsic. I almost wanted to meet him. Instead, I was surprised to see three large beastly looking daemons appear.
The only name said was "Aprobus". Later it was confirmed by a dwarven member of Nox Ordo, Regnor, that the lead daemon's name was "Nominus Aprobus". One in the same as a daemon lord by the name of "Nominus". But the daemon bore a message from its "Master", The Shadow. He resigned as Lord Protector, claiming he had already "destroyed all the honor that [Trinsic] had". He also left something else with the message...
A large bag containing the ravaged and mutilated body of what appeared, by its uniform, to have been a paladin. One named Derfel assumed the position of Mayor, as everyone at the meeting agreed...
After the evening wore down, Galahad escorted me back to Tel'Ruid and we chatted for a short while in the Smithy. But he had duties to attend, as a Councilor... So he departed.
I travelled to the library upon Serpents Isle. It has been many hours since I first arrived there; I spent much time reading through and taking notes on various volumes.
I don't know what I hope to find... But it gives me shivers to know that a "daemon lord" is considered the servant of The Shadow. I have never met him, and now I don't know if I would ever want to. I hope to find Eric the Red and speak to him on the matter.
Damn my curiosities.
Myra laid down her quill and blew out the candles, leaving the journal pages open to dry. Climbing up the ladder to the roof, she spread a blanket and sat upon it, looking over the bay. Starlight sparkled on its surface, and soon she laid down and fell asleep.
