Seeking closure

Melyanna sat atop Kaane overlooking the small patch of wildflowers. This had always been one of her favorite places, yet she had not been here since before Kirel had disappeared. In the years since he had disappeared, Mely had finally adjusted to the idea that he was not returning. But getting to that point had cost her dearly.

Her mind wandered back to that dark time. She had been devistated when he disappeared. He had returned to the island, to find his atara, he had said. But then reports had reached her that he had dismissed his shopkeep at Copper's shop and had set them up at his home. She had gone to his home, to find that what had once been their private island hideaway, was now a business. She had entered the home she had helped decorate and found all traces that she had ever lived there gone. That had nearly destroyed her there. She had not wanted to accept the fact that he had given up on her and on their marriage.

She had left notes for him with his shopkeeps, yet she never knew if he had received them or not. She'd never received a reply to any of them. And so had begun her decent. She'd stopped caring about her appearance, she didn't want to attract attention to herself. So she had gone to the wilds of Ilshenar, where she had lost herself in the city of Mistas. Until the ratmen had ambushed her. Somehow, Losse had gone for help and she had been returned to TelRuid and her family. She had recovered. But she had been changed.

Shaking her head, she cleared her thoughts, bringing them back to the present. She needed closure. Her decision made, she lightly squeezed her knees into Kaane's side, urging the nightmare into a gallop back towards the glade. On reaching the small marble tower, she slid off of Kaane's back and climbed the ladder, pounding on the door. "Talanithus are you there? I need to speak with you toror...I wish to end my marriage..."
